Baptism

Preparation for baptisms is done through the SMG Pre-Jordan program, which provides classes for parents and godparents.  Christenings are then scheduled following the 11:30am Mass on Sundays.  If you need to arrange for a private baptism for a special needs child, please reach out to the Adaptive Program, and we can put you in touch with the appropriate parish staff or assist in scheduling the Baptism.

Reconciliation

Adaptive PREP students are offered the opportunity to take part in our spring, second grade Penance Service with the other students preparing for their First Penance as well as to take part in any of our numerous public opportunities, such as the PREP Reconciliation Evenings during Advent and Lent and our parish-wide, Saturday Confessions prior to the Vigil Mass.  In addition, we provide an Adaptive PREP Penance opportunity with Father Chung that accommodates all of our learning-diverse students, those making First Penance as well those participating in Lenten Reconciliation prior to Easter.

Eucharist

Our families are encouraged to participate in our traditional PREP First Communion activties, like the First Communion parent-and-child workshop, group First Communion Mass, and May Procession.  In our second grade First Communion Mass, which ranges from 45-60 communicants, our Adaptive children sit with their Adaptive catechist.  If they have needs that preclude a full ingestion of the Sacred Body or Precious Blood, our program works with your family and our priest to find the type of sacramental experience that is appropriate for your child.  In addition, a private reception of First Communion can also be arranged when needed.

Confirmation

Our parish has been blessed with visits by wonderful Bishops, including Archbishop Perez, for the Sacrament of Confirmation.  Regardless of your child’s situation, we can make this beautiful occasion a memory to remember for your family.  Regardless of speech difficulties or special needs, the blessing of the Holy Spirit through the Sacrament of Confirmation is available for your child.  If a group Mass is not possible, our parish family can accommodate a private Confirmation during the Easter season.
